USING RESEARCH QUESTIONS FOR INVENTION—and for form, and for teaching (Part 3)

Q1: Is it right for scientists to create new life forms?

This question allows for a simple yes/no response.  If it were changed to "What are the possible benefits and drawbacks of scientists creating new lifeforms, does one option outweigh the other?"  This sort of question requires research and analysis in order to create a thoughtful response.

Q2: How is glacial melting affecting penguins in Antarctica?

To a contemporary author this appears to be a relatively shallow question.  The response could consist of simple unresearched statements like: "Glacial melting is destroying the habitats of penguins."  The question, "What are the possible repercussions of glacial melting on Antarctic Ecosystems?  Are we capable of preventing this from occurring?"
